don't know if my computer's been hijacked or what, but when i tried to run the spybot, it closes before doing anything. adaware doesn't seem to be affected. are there programs that can block anti-spyware from running? When i tried to access sites to download spyware removal tools, IE couldn't find those pages, but i was able to access them on other computers. could that be due to spyware programs as well?

I had trouble with martfinder (i don't know if that's still on my computer), but i have ad aware, HAD spybot, am running winpatrol, used cwshredder, and used hijackthis. spybot still refuses to run.

am a novice with computers so any help is appreciated.

CWShredder should have taken care of martfinder. Lets have a look at your running processes. Proceed as follows, taking care to read the instructions.


First off, please read these messages

Then
Download: HiJack This!

Create and Unzip to a folder not your Desktop or the Temp folder, doubleclick HijackThis.exe, and press "Scan".
Unzip the download (using a piece of software like: Winzip)


When the scan is finished, the "Scan" button will change into a "Save Log" button.
Press that, save the log in a text file, and post it in the CCSP "Spyware - Hijack Related" forum:

/f67-Trend_Micro_HijackThis_Logs.html


Most of what it lists will be harmless or even required, so do NOT fix anything yet.
Someone here will be happy to help you analyze the results.

I reinstalled the spybot after running the other programs and it worked. things seem to be fine now. thanks for your help, I appreciate it a lot.
