when these pages start on their own I also get shortcut icons placed on my desktop. This is one of them:

I copied this from the properties section of the shortcut icon

"C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\IEXPLORE.EXE" http://www.casinopalazzo.com/index.php?sourceid=101930

Disable SpywareGuard until we are finished please.

Have Hijack This fix the following by placing a check in the appropriate boxes and selecting fix checked. Make sure all browser and all Windows Explorer windows are closed before fixing.

R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Start Page = http://qvkuaz.t.muxa.cc/h.php?aid=227 (obfuscated)
R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search,(Default) = ,
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Microsoft Update] wuamgrd.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [msict] C:\WINDOWS\system32\msict.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\RunServices: [Microsoft Update] wuamgrd.exe
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [Sysint16] c:\windows\system32\sysint16.exe
O4 - Global Startup: desctop.exe
O4 - Global Startup: svchost.exe
O16 - DPF: {56336BCB-3D8A-11D6-A00B-0050DA18DE71} (RdxIE Class) - http://software-dl.real.com/15a2f7d5f76...xIE601.cab

Reboot to safe mode (tap F8 key at boot) and delete:

C:\WINDOWS\system32\msict.exe <-- file
C:\WINDOWS\system32\wuamgrd.exe <-- file
c:\windows\system32\sysint16.exe <-- file NOTE: Before you delete this one, please right click it and select > send to > compressed (zipped) folder. Then Attach the zipped folder to your next reply.
Thanks.

NOTE: To avoid the risk of any of the above not being found due to them having the 'Hidden' attribute, first make sure that in Folder Options > View hidden and operating system files are set to show:
How to Show Hidden/System Files
http://www.xtra.co.nz/help/0,,4155-1916458,00.html

Reboot into normal Windows.

Download the latest version of Ad-Aware at

http://www.lavasoftusa.com/support/download/
After installing AAW, and before running the program, FIRST update the reference file following these instructions.
http://www.lavahelp.com/howto/updref/index.html
Now do the following:
- Under Ad-aware 6 > Settings (Gear at the top) > Tweaks > Scanning Engine:
check: "Unload recognized processes during scanning."
- Under Ad-aware 6 > Settings (Gear at the top) > Tweaks > Cleaning Engine:
Check: "Let Windows remove files in use after reboot."
Press "Scan Now"
- Check option "Use Custom scanning options"
- Check option "Activate In-Depth Scan"
- Press "Select drives\folders to scan"
- Select the active partition which is usually C:
Now press "Next" to let Ad-aware scan your drives...
It will find a number of "bad" files and registry keys.
Right-click in that pane and choose "select all"
Now press "Next" again.
It will ask you whether you'd like to remove all checked items. Click OK.
Finally, close Ad-Aware, and reboot.

Download Spybot - Search & Destroy
CastleCops Link/downloads-file-108.html
Now press Online, and search for, put a check mark at, and install all updates.
Next, close all Internet Explorer windows, hit 'Check for Problems', and have SpyBot remove all it finds.
Reboot.

Now post a new HJT log please.

I have had a bit of trouble following all of the instructions.

1. Could not find C:\WINDOWS\system32\wuamgrd.exe
or c:\windows\system32\sysint16.exe
i set the file settings to view all files and still could not see these specific files.

2. I have Ad-aware 6.0 already. I've updated it but...
Could not do:
- Under Ad-aware 6 > Settings (Gear at the top) > Tweaks > Scanning Engine:
check: "Unload recognized processes during scanning."
- Under Ad-aware 6 > Settings (Gear at the top) > Tweaks > Cleaning Engine:
Check: "Let Windows remove files in use after reboot."

I could not find these specific settings. Sorry

I followed all of the other steps. Interestingly though while i was scanning with ad-aware another IE window popped up. Still seem to have the problem. At least I was having the problem while running ad-aware. It hasn't happend again though.

Have Hijack This fix the following by placing a check in the appropriate boxes and selecting fix checked. Make sure all browser and all Windows Explorer windows are closed before fixing.

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Mainviewex] c:\windows\system32\mainviewex.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [msict] C:\WINDOWS\system32\msict.exe
O4 - Global Startup: desctop.exe

Reboot to safe mode (tap F8 key at boot) and delete:

C:\documents and settings\Jeffery\local settings\temp <-- entire contents of temp folder
C:\WINDOWS\system32\msict.exe <-- file
c:\windows\system32\mainviewex.exe <-- file NOTE: Please zip this one up before you delete it and attach the zip to your next reply. (right click > send to > compressed (zipped) folder )

To do that do not use quick reply. Instead press the Reply button. When you do you will be able to attach a file to your reply.

Show us a fresh log now please.

Thanks for the file. Pleaase delete it off your computer, and the zipped copy as well.

Then:
I would suggest you clear your restore points now:
Turn off System Restore.
Right-click My Computer.
Click Properties.
Click the System Restore tab.
Check Turn off System Restore.
Click Apply, and then click OK.
Turn ON System Restore.
Right-click My Computer.
Click Properties.
Click the System Restore tab.
UN-Check *Turn off System Restore*.
Click Apply, and then click OK.

AVG calls it Downloader. Crypter.C

Trojan.PWS.Detei (Dr Web)

TrojanDownloader.Win32.Crypt (Kaspersky)
