My XP computer recognizes the card as new hardware but the wizard does not find the driver and will not find it when I point to it either. Suggestions???

Not sure if this is one of the ones where you have to install the driver before you install the card or not, have you tried that? _________________ Questions? Try the wiki

I've tried it both ways to no avail. The literature says to plug in the card, start the computer, insert the CD and let it install. Unfortunately, it won't find the driver.

Tried all of those listed, both from the Linksys site and the other site. None work. It installs and works great in a IBM Thinkpad T30 running windows 2000. Could there be a problem with my XP?
XP recognizes the new hardware as an ethernet controller, not a Linksys Wireless B etc. Does that matter?

If XP is trying to manage the card with an internal driver you might not need the one that came with the card. Have you tried looking to see if it got added to the network window?
Got that tip from a friend that does XP and ran into a problem like yours with his D-LInk card. _________________ Questions? Try the wiki

Not sure I follow, but the only network connection I have is the ethernet connection via Realtek RTL8139/810x Family Fast Ethernet NIC and that works fine. My card works fine in another laptop running 2000.
I am pulling out what hair I have left.
When the card is installed, it pops up as an ethernet controller, not as a Linksys Wireless B etc. Does that matter?

Thanks!!
