i took a chance and installed the sp2 update and apart from using lots of my limited space everything seems to be working, but i have an extra icon in the system tray now with a conflict which says it cant renew the ip address when i tried to repair it.
seems like lots of people are having the same problem but i havent found an answer yet through googling.
should i just uninstall the sp2 update

I got rid of it from the tray, apparently it is set to show if connectivety is low or not working.
but now i am wondering if it is low and can be improved.
Cant get through to my isp's help desk either, I suspect there is some way i can just assign a new address for it
