Hi!
I have win98 and I tried the Spyware doctor and the NoAdware but it's still there. Can anybody help to get rid of it?

Hi Gyula,
Welcome to CastleCops!
NoAdware program is not recommended to use. See - http://www.spywarewarrior.com/rogue_anti-spyware.htm
With regards to Downloader.Istbar.4.AG, try to empty your temporary internet files.
Please post the location of the file that is detected with Downloader.Istbar.4.AG
You might want to run online scan using Housecall - http://housecall.antivirus.com/housecall/start_corp.asp _________________ It is common sense to take a method and try it; if it fails, admit it frankly and try another. But above all, try something. --Franklin D. Roosevelt

Hi Donna,
thanks for your help. The infected file was C:\Windows\Temp\ICD1.TMP\istactivex.dll
and there was a HEROVAN.exe file in the C:\ which tried to run, but the AVG stopped it.
Bye, Gyula

Hi again Gyula
You should empty the temporary internet files. Go to http://www.mvps.org/winhelp2002/delcache.htm to see how to safely delete them then there should be no more Downloader.Istbar.4.AG detection from AVG.
With regards to HEROVAN.exe, AVG maybe stopped it because it is infected. It should be in the Virus vault by now. _________________ It is common sense to take a method and try it; if it fails, admit it frankly and try another. But above all, try something. --Franklin D. Roosevelt

So, i'm trying to make my pc clean...

Hi again,
You can safely delete those infected items from Virus vault since there's no use of keeping them there unless you suspect that some items in the vault are false positive.
Hope your system is clean now. _________________ It is common sense to take a method and try it; if it fails, admit it frankly and try another. But above all, try something. --Franklin D. Roosevelt
