Wow those apps are looking great, insane amount of possibilitys in both of them.
I`ll probably try both the NAT and the Packet filter app. Donīt really get why they separated the two? Im thinking most people could make use for both.

Looks extremely professional, no bloat like keiro, both apps are around 300kb.

If anybody is using any of them, please post comments!

@mhe,
"Donīt really get why they separated the two?"

To avoid confusion. NAT plays a purely networking role and the packet filter an access control one.
However - if both are installed they will be available from the same management console.

"no bloat like keiro"

Kerio is a personal firewall and a great one I believe. One of the reasons these type of apps tend to be "bloatware" is that they incorporate many useful features for the end-user such as privacy, application monitoring, etc. CHX-I is not a personal firewall therefore the comparison is unfair to Kerio. Wink

Best Regards,

Stefan.

It slows down your LAN speed dramatically, to/from the computer acting router.

I`ve mailed them about this for years ago, when i was using winroute pro 3.X, and they still havent gotten it right with their newest most expensive enterprise solutions.

Thats the main reason i dont use it. But of course i could live without the new butt ugly interface, old 3-4.X interface is way better.

I didn't know that.
If you try CHX-I NAT let us know your opinions.

Best Regards,

Stefan.

I installed both the packet filter and the NAT application. So far it seems solid.

I do however have a few things i need to get straight. And i feel it will be difficult explaining them in detail here. Stefan is it possible to talk to you through some sort of an instant messanger, irc/icq?

Just e-mail me (stef!idrci.net replace ! with @)
