|
|
I am currently running AVG 6.0.754 (Free Edition). I am using MS Outlook Express 6.0 and when I send an E-mail message, I see the little certification message at the end of the message. However, when I download any new messages and open them, I do not see the inbound certification. (Incoming mail is certified Virus Free. ) Why is this? I have it checked to check and certify both outgoing and incoming. Why won't it certify? Thanks!

Hi youngabe!
Have you checked the appropriate boxes in the Email Scanner tab including the Outlook Express 5 plugin and the Advanced Settings?

Hi youngabe!
I had to do some digging around. The problem is that AVG6 only does OE 5 but not 6.
You can try using the AVG Personal Email Scanner (beta) Follow their instructions.
I might give it a whirl too because I don't use Outlook. It can work with other email clients as well.

Ok, thanks. I have two questions, do you think that maybe AVG will ever release an upgrade so that it works with 6? (Note: I'm running the free version)
Will this E-mail scanner interfere with my current AVG and just because it doesn't certify incoming mail, please tell me that it is scanning my incoming mail!!
Thanks,
-S

Prince_Serendip,
So, I just installed the Personal E-mail Scanner, it does put the incoming certification on! Thanks! You've been a big help!
