|
|
On 19 August 2002, I was experiencing an attack on my TCP Port 9721 by various IP's according to ZoneAlarm v3.1.291. An example is below:
The firewall has blocked Internet access to your computer (TCP Port 9721) from 63.203.98.178 (TCP Port 1518)[TCP Flags S]
The IP's would rotate using various TCP Port's on their side to try to connect to my TCP Port 9721. I am also using MyNetWatchman to automatically report the IP's trying to connect to my computer.
I don't know if it is anything significant, but I wanted to make note of it in this forum in case others were expericing an attack on this port too. The attacks were occuring about 4:30 PM (PDT)

As I don't know - as of this time - any hack on port 9721, it is possible that you where listening/connecting to some kind of video (on your pc). TCP Port 1518/1519 are: Virtual Places Video data. _________________ Deny first, question, and enable when you trust.

You can probably delete those posts yourself. Try it. Click on the "X".

Where's that '"X". Can't find it. I think we can only edit posts, not delete? _________________ Deny first, question, and enable when you trust.

Yes...Java enabled. Why not temporarily use Java just for deleting your multiple posts? You don't use Java? Are you not confident enough or knowledgeable enough to be able to use Java and protect your system at the same time? Do you have the ability to enable Java on a whim? Try Opera browser if you don't.
Sun Java is much more secure than Microsoft's.
I realize that my post is rather grating. It was not meant to be. I was attempting to ask serious questions. Sorry if it was offensive.
Regards,
Jim
Edit:
It doesn't appear that Java has anythig to do with it at all. Perhaps time is a factor. While I am able to edit any of my posts with Java disabled, the delete function is only available for recent posts.

No Proxy, it was definately an attack on Port 9721, and not my computer listening. I looked up the name of the Port, but this port was unlisted at this address: http://www.ec11.dial.pipex.com/port-num0.shtml
