|
|
Just installed Encrypt - when I try to decrypt the message all I get next to the "document ready to open " is the "save document" button. I never get the "open document" button. I have to enter my password and hit the "enter" key then it decrypts. Anyone else with this problem? It happens both in Firefox 1 and Internet Explorer. Also there HAS TO BE a better way for people who use Yahoo Mail to unencrypt their message. You have to Save it to your Yahoo briefcase then go to the briefcase to open it.
I also use Eudora and have followed the directions for using Encrypt with Benign. My concern there is if I have to UNCHECK "remove applets and embedding" isn't that defeating the whole purpose of using Benign? I would have thought if the same company makes both products there would have been a safer way of allowing both to function together.
Don't get me wrong I have Firetrusts Mailwasher Pro and Benign and love them both, but I was a little disappointed with the way Encrypt functions in both Yahoo mail and Hotmail and the workaround for Benign leaves alot to be desired.

I too found the B9 workaround for applets a bit strange and have precisely the same concerns you express.
I also use both products and am pondering whether to purchase Encrypt for the above reasons.
Additionally, it would be nice to associate a password with an email account so as to avoid having to enter passwords each and every time one encrypts something. Or perhaps having Encrypt "remember" past passwords.
My guess is, the interface, which I find a bit kludgey, was a compromise to make it functional with as many email applications as possible. It would be really nice to be able to employ Encrypt within the email applications itself...but that's likely not possible at the pricepoint.
Ciao...

I am interested in purchasing this product, but I see the developer has never rectified the problem with the open button.
Do the programmer(s) visit this forum?
I tested the application and sent an encrypted messages and then I type in the password and hit enter, nothing happens. I does not open the file. The only way to view it, is to download to PC and then view it.
That will not work for us. Has anyone solved this problem yet? or do I need to look into another problem.
I like the interface and the way it works, just need to simplify it for the receipient.
PS I using IE7 and I tried it with IE6 as well. I am using the trial version as well.

It works OK, but I rarely use it any longer. I've found BestCrypt a better solution for my needs. I simply maintain a BestCrypt dedicated email container into which I place documents and then email the container.
