hello there!! I recently allowed my 30 day free trail antivirus and firewall, software to run out and stop thier protection. As to be expected, I have picked up some viruses I think. i noticed yestarday when i tried to open outlook express, and all i got was a beep and a message saying:

windown cannot find c:/ program files/outlook express/msimn.exe.

when i try to create a new mail message, i get this error:

outlook express could not be started. The application was unable to create a syncronisation object. your computer may be out of memory or your disk is full.

Well, my disk is nowere near full.

Also, I am unable to open programs by double clicking desktop icons. I can make sone of them work by right clicking and selecting "run as..." and then i have to uncheck a box before it will run.

I have been able to use the web, it is a bit sluggish though. I also managed to do a couple of online virus scans and a couple of worms were found and removed. I have used adaware and spybot aswell. ???

Could you please download and run HijackThis using the instructions given at the top of the Hijack - related forum? Then post a scan here for us to have a look at.

Cheers,

ach

Hi cammo,

I was after a HijackThis log rather than Trojan scan, there are some items which may show up which might help us with your problem. Please download HijackThis from here:

http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/files/hijackthis.zip

and post the results in this thread, please do not fix anything until we have had a look at the log.

thx,

ach Smile
